Nintendo Just Made My Millennium

It's A Wooly, Wooly World
It’s A Wooly, Wooly World

My daughter has already started her Christmas list, and at the top of the list is the Wii U and Super Mario 3D world. I now am adding to that list for myself, the newest game announced by Nintendo — Yoshi’s Woolly World.

Your eye’s do not deceive you, it is a crochet and knit world of wonder!

I was leery of the Wii U with its lackluster reviews, but was considering it because my daughter really wanted “cat Mario” (a form of Mario that can climb walls like a cat in the 3D world game).

But now that I’ve seen the trailer (below) for Yoshi’s Woolly World, I must have it!

Imagine a world made up of knit mountains and crochet crystals, where hanks of yarn hang like stalagtites and rainbows are held up with knitting needles. This is Yoshi’s newest world and I want to live in it. I obviously missed out on my dream job of consulting on this game made up of entirely knit and crochet, but I can still play it.

The pictures alone were enough to sell me, but then I watched the video game trailer and I couldn’t stop laughing. Yoshi actually eats his enemies and poops out yarn balls. He can frog a hole in a wall by pulling on a errant tail and take out a whole group of enemies with a knit ball.

Even if you never plan on owning a Wii U, I highly recommend you watch the trailer just to see the incredible imagination of the gamers who made it. It won’t be out until early 2015 so there is plenty of time to change your mind. 🙂 Check out some more images of Yoshi’s world while you’re at it.

Do you have a Wii U? How do you like the console and do you think you would buy this new game? Let us know what you think below.
