Yarnbox August 2014 Reveal

This month I received a Yarnbag, instead of a Yarnbox. Find out why below!

My yarnbag.
My yarnbag.

The simple reason for the yarnbag was that the yarn was so gigantic, it wouldn’t fit into a yarnbox!

But before we get to the yarn.

Let’s check out the Designer trading card.

Such a cute combo.
Such a cute combo.

Melissa Leapman (designer of over 800 knit and crochet projects) made a knitted and crocheted version of her “Jenny Set” that you see above (crochet set is in the picture).

It’s perfect for the included yarn and cute to boost.

Now The Yarn

The yarn is by Imperial Yarn and is called Erin. ($66 value for all three)

Imperial yarn has been around since 1871 and was the yarn chosen for the sweaters worn by the Sochi Olympians this past winter.

The wool is incredibly soft for 100%. It is a 3ply worsted, though it seems almost bulky with how lofty it is.

There is a generous 225 yards in each hank, so you could do three beanies or a really nice large scarf with it. I’m planning as I type…

Did you get a Yarnbox this month? What colors did you get? Let us know below. Also see more of the yarn and the other side of the designer card in the video below.
