I am using the description – maybe I’m doing some of the stitches wrong to increase by 2 extra – when I count the stitches described by the pattern I get 19!! Feel free to private email me, the email you have is correct. Thanks again, Anna

I recently purchased this pattern and for some reason when I follow the pattern for row 2 I’m only ending up with 53 stitches. I have tried several times and believe that I’m doing the correct stitches for the pattern – I get to the last K4 before I finish the row so not enough time to get the last three stitches knitted to make the increase. The number of stitches don’t seem to match the 55 overall stitches. Where am I going wrong?!! Any thoughts would be very gratefully received – pulling my hair out!!!!

Hi there, sorry you are having trouble. I’m not quite sure where you are going wrong since you are only missing two stitches at the end of the row. The repeat should give you a muliple of 17 STS. There will be 3 repeats 17*3= 51. Then you have 2 sts on either side of the finished repeats (the edge stitches). 51 +2 +2= 55 sts total.

Does that help to figure out where the stitches are coming from? Let me know if that isn’t solving it.

Hi thanks for your reply. I think the problem is during the repeat, I’m getting 19 stitches. The only way I can drop to 17 is if I only K3 instead of k4. I’ve counted it so many times on the pattern but I get 19 with the increases and decreases. Any clearer? Thank you.

Are you going by the chart only, or on the written pattern? I can give you the breakdown of the stitches but I need to send you a private email. Is the email that you used for the contact the correct email for you?

Also, if you are going by the chart, be sure to note that the grey squares are “no stitches” they do not exist and are not part of the stitch count. They are place holders for the KFB that is on each side of them. That is about the only way I can see that you are getting 19 sts.

Let me know what you think
