Newbie Newsday: What Is Frogging?

What is Frogging?

You might hear this from a veteran crocheter, “I didn’t get gauge, so I had to frog my project.”

Frogging:

The process of ripping out your crochet project when you find an error. It is called “frogging” because of the sound of saying “rip it, rip it, rip it” over and over.

Now you can throw that into your crochet vocabulary and sound like a pro!

Since tinking is for knitting, if it is between frogging or tinking when knitting, I choose tinking because I’m no good at picking up my stitches if I pull a whole row or round. Unless of course, I have a life line then I would choose frogging. I mostly only use lifelines for difficult stitch patterns that I wouldn’t be able to figure out how to tink.
