Mardi Gras Vibes With This Month’s Knit Crate

Knitcrate July 2018!!!

I just got my July 2018 Knitcrate basic membership in the mail… finally after a little mishap with the mailbox.

It took a couple of days for the mailman to realize that I wasn’t going to be able to get this out.

Once I was able to actually get the box in my hands, I was able to see the theme.

The theme this month is Modern Primary.

Explore a fresh look at the familiar rainbow with bold intense color!

I love all things rainbow, so I was really excited to see what the yarn would be.

The yarn this month is from Knitologie and I’m loving the purples, blues and golds that are looking like a Mardi Gras parade.

The variegated yarn has a nice twist to keep pilling down.

I received colorway “Dashboard” and the yarn is a squishy soft medium worsted 100% Superwash Merino.

180 yards per the two hanks you receive means you can easily make a scarf in either knit or crochet.

Then came the patterns:

First the knit Beachball Cowl by Virginia Sattler-Keimer, a fun lacy cowl perfect for the summer.

Then the crocheted Yoga Socks by Laura Bain, a comfy pair of open-toed socks to use on the mat.
