I am new to crochet, and really appreciate your videos. You explain very clearly, and go slow enough I can follow. I actually learned the magic adjustable loop with you. I had tried other videos, only to give up frustrated. Newbies need to understand that you have lots of experience, so everything looks much easier, but just keep at it. Anything worthwhile takes time and practice.

Thank you for this video, it is great. I have a question about round 4, I don’t understand why I am only getting 52 stitches instead of 54 like the pattern says. I checked my stitches several times for each row and all the other rows have the correct number of stitches. I am not sure what I am doing incorrectly. Would you happen to have a solution for my problem or should I continue on with the pattern to see if it turns out right?

Your Basic Men’s Beanie is worked in a spiral, the You Are Not Alone Beanie is worked in rounds. For what reasons would you pick one method over the other? BTW, I think your video tutorials are fantastic; easy to follow and understand, useful, and your voice isn’t annoying at all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi there, it’s all about preference. If I want a solid color beanie with no seam, then I use the spiral method. If I want a beanie with a color change then I choose to join rounds so there isn’t a weird color jump that you get wit spiral work. I also only do HDC in spiral since it’s impossible to make a straight seam when you join unless you turn it after each round. ๐Ÿ™‚
