Recommended Materials
For a dainty snowflake you will want to use either a lightweight yarn or crochet thread. A good choice for a stiff snowflake is the Crochet Cotton Thread by Aunt Lydia. (affiliate link)
Match your crochet hook to the size of yarn/thread you are using. For lightweight, I use a 2.75 to 3mm hook and my favorites are the Soft Touch by Clover. (affiliate link)
