    Thank you for the tutorial. You made this incredibly easy to follow along and I already made 2 squares just by following your video.

    My issue is what to do afterwards. Any joining method I’ve used in the past would leave a seam or look (IMHO) tacky because there is no way to match all the colors. Is there any way to join these “invisibly”? Do you have a video showing how? Or plan to male one in the future?

      Hi there, it will depend on your gauge and yarn you are using. The best thing to do is make a small swatch and measure its dimensions (try to make the measurements some easy to divide into your 5′ blanket). Then pull it out and measure the yardage used (unless you have a postal scale that can measure grams. Then weight the swatch and use the grams vs. yardage on the yarn label to figure out how many yards are in the swatch). Then take that yardage and your swatch measurements to figure out how much yardage you will need for the rest of the blanket (how many swatches would you need to make the blanket, then multiple by yards in the swatch). 🙂

    Have you actually made anything larger than the video swatch from this pattern? I have done about 18-20 inches and it is turning into a diamond shape (reminds me of a manta ray fish). The original starting corner does not enlarge, of course, but you actually increase every row above it. I crocheted very slowly and carefully watched my tension. Right now my two single crochet sides are about 3″ longer than the turn/chain-one sides and this will only increase as the rows increase. Is this a design flaw in the pattern? If I have made a fatal error in my execution, please let me know. I was ready to rip it all out and start over but my common sense tells me the redo won’t change anything and this yarn is difficult to unravel because of the fuzzies that get stuck between stitches. Once I passed 6 inches the difference in sides became quite noticeable and no amount of stretching or blocking could change it. The original concept of this pattern is good but it loses its impact after 6″. It is very pretty for the first 6 inches or so with wider color blocks but quickly becomes just a narrow stripe after that. I am using the Red Heart Boutique Yarn in Parrot. I think this would work up better as a giant square in single crochet with an increase in 4 corners. . I just discovered your videos through my Kindle and I love them.

      Hi there, I’ve only ever made small blocks from this pattern. It interesting that it is making the diamond shape. I never thought of making a whole blanket out of one square, I always liked the thought of the small blocks put together. Not sure why it is developing that way when it is just single crochet. I’ll have to think about it.

    I love this stitch and I love it with variegated yarn, but it completely curls. I would like to make a whole blanket from one piece but I don’t know if it will block well. I have one I’m doing with wool and one with acrylic. I’m not crocheting tightly, but they are both completely curled. Will doing, say, a couple rows of DC for edging help?

    I having trouble on a square. Do you have a video on it? I got the pattern but. I have a picture of it. CAN I SHOW YOU THE SQUARE IN QUESTION. I try to understand the placement of the squares pattern, but, the pattern isn’t clicking in my mind. Thanks in advance.
