I have a pattern book which predates your pattern by many years (1981) which contains this exact granny square design, and I myself made a blanket using this exact square from said book which I started around 1990. Just curious as to how you are taking credit for the creation of this design.

Hi there. That is a great question. I’m not taking credit for the design of the square, only the design of the purse I created from it. I’m sure you are familiar with many different granny squares that have been around for many years. Each time they are reproduced into different designs, the new incarnation (like a classic granny square vest) is given credit to the designer who put the classic square into that configuration. hopefully that clears up any confusion. Let me know if you have any other questions. π
