November 2013: Peacock Motif
This motif reminds me of a peacock feather shape. Watch the video for a joining technique you might have never seen before.

I was looking for the colors used in the brightest one. It looks like
Navy blue, a dark Royal Blue, a Light Blue, Peacock a Corn Yellow, a Bright Green, then peacock again.
Then the color “Peacock” joining everything together.
Deja Joy
Hi there. Im not sure which one you are referring to?
Barbara Cohen
Your video was wonderful. Fast enough for an experienced crocheter to not go crazy but slow enough for the beginner. Thank you!
Lucy ramirez
What size hook are you using for this?
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, it is a 5mm US h hook. ๐
Jen
How would you attach motif together to make a blanket. I attached mine, and the lose the beauty and shape.
Deja Jetmir
You could stitch them to a solid background. Then you can control the shape better and not have any holes. ๐

I need the written patern for peacock feather please
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, it is right on this page below the video. If you are unable to see the download link, you might need to use a different website browser.
Samantha
Hi there I saw your pattern on this link http://livingthecraftlife.blogspot.com/2014/02/peacock-feather-applique-free-pattern.html?m=1
The video is for the version here but the pattern in the link is different. Really like it but I’m getting confused on the different joining technique and think I’m not skipping or doing something correctly.
Anyways, if this pattern is also yours can you do a video of this new version of the peacock pattern?? I am of course just talking about the actual peacock feather not the blanket. Your videos are really helpful.
This is the first I’ve attempted anything outside the beginner range but it really want to improve and learn this
Thanks!!

Hi there, just the motif video on the page is mine. The pattern is someone else and the pattern below my video is another’s. Very confusing, I wish whoever had made that page, explained everything a little more clearly. Sorry about any confusion.
Samantha
Oh I see that now. Wow yeah whoever did this just mashed up 3 or more artists work and called it good. Very sloppy of them and confusing for everyone else.
Thanks anyways! I look forward to trying your some of your patterns soon ๐

Hi everyone. There is a webpage that lists my video tutorial with a picture of a blanket pattern. The blanket pattern is not mine and is not free. The webpage is very misleading. You can view and buy the blanket pattern here: http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/crocheting/home-decor/peacock-pretty-blanket/74902
Ellie
Thanks Deja, yes I agree the blanket pattern page is misleading. I’m glad I found your site, it is a beautiful motif and has inspired to try crocheting. I don’t know whether I’ll ever be able to do that but I’m now trying the chain ๐
Deja Jetmir
So glad you are giving it a go. ๐ Wish I could leave a comment on the page the blanket is on, I feel bad for all the people thinking it is a free pattern.
Jeneva
They also link to a different site for the feather pattern after the video, which looks more like the motifs on the blanket than like your design. Very confusing.
Deja Jetmir
Yes it is. I wish they would link to the pattern, that is what everyone is looking for. ๐
Vikki
How many skeins of yarn is required and how did you do the background around the pieces as shown on the picture?
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, I must be missing something. I keep getting this question about a blanket. Is there a picture somewhere that is linking to this motif? I only made the motif, never a blanket? There is no background on my motif, just the motif itself. I would love to know where this blanket is so I can direct everyone there for the pattern. Any help would be appreciated. ๐
JB
I think they are referring to this on Facebook that links to your video. http://www.diysmartly.com/peacock-feather-applique-free-pattern-video-tutorial/
Deja Jetmir
Ahhh, now I see. ๐ Thanks for posting that. Now I can direct them to the pattern. It’s a popular one on Craftsy. Thanks again!
Diane
I believe they are appliqued onto an afghan.
Deja Jetmir
Thanks Diane, I’m not sure which blanket she is referring to?
Barbara Sisco
Love the peacock appliquรฉ. How are they made into the afghan in the picture? I love that.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, which picture are you referring to? I don’t have a pattern that has the appliques made into a blanket? ๐
Lorraine Moore
Just looking for a material list. Found the video on Youtube, but not list there. Followed link for written pattern … figured it would be here. Thank you.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, the pattern (with materials) is right below the video on the page. You will see the video, then a static picture and then a link below with the download. ๐

Hi I love the crochet motif. do you have a tutorial on how to crochet a square around the peacock motif.
TIA
Lizzie
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, I don’t actually. Sorry about that, I might have to come up with one someday. ๐
Lizzie Mayne
Thanks for the reply.
Deja Jetmir
You’re welcome. ๐
