Darn Good Yarn is giving away a $500 gift card. The contest runs through June 7th, 2017, so head over there now and enter.
Congrats Deborah who left this comment:
Mine are pretty simple to most but I am a beginner and a lefty so I love your videos. I would love to see coffee & mug cozies, headbands, fingerless gloves and those beaded crochet necklaces if that’s something you do. Also I believe they are called motifs (I think) owls, skull, and cats so they can be added to the headbands & cozies. Thank you for the opportunity and I really like that black ring.
She will be picking one of the counter rings (I’m guessing the black on from her comment). Then there will still be two left, so be sure to subscribe to the blog to find out when the next contest will start.
I bet you were wondering what happened to the Counter Rings.
I didn’t forget about them or you. I was just waiting for the super generous guys of Critsuccess to hook up their new, knit and crochet-focused website.
The Counter Ring is now live.
I love these rings, and I still use mine whenever I have a project where I need to keep track of rows. It is always in my project bag, and I am contemplating getting a couple extra so I am never without one.
In case you are new to the Counter Ring, check out my video to see it in action.
I was given four rings from The Counter Ring company and I have three left to giveaway.
I’m going to be giving away the rings over the course of the next couple months. They will be given away one at a time.
The next winner (see below how to enter) will get their choice of any of the three remaining colors seen pictured. The sizes for each color are:
Rainbow – size 9
Black – size 9
Blue – size 8
Gold – size 8
Each subsequent winner (new posts will be started for each giveaway, so be sure to subscribe to the blog if you haven’t already), will get their choice from the remaining rings.
Enter a comment in this post with what kind of free patterns you would like to see me make videos for this year.

I was sent a Dye Box from the folks over at BQueen Collection to try out and give my honest opinion.
I’ll let BQueen break it down for you:
Our BQueen Collection Dye Box is a simple DIY kit for dyeing your own yarn naturally. By taking out some of the preliminary steps for you, we make it easy yet very rewarding to find color on a bare hank.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
- At least 100g of quality yarn, ready to dye (we’ll change up the fiber content and yarn weight too!)
- Every month is a different surprise yarn color
- Natural Dye, already measured out specifically for your yarn in a cute little cork bottle
- Your dye tools, consisting of nitrile gloves, stirring utensils, and a paper cup for mixing
What they don’t tell you is how addicting this is. My surprise color was just that — a total surprise. I had no idea the color in the bottle would change so dramatically. Check out the video below for a full reveal of the box and see the color change.
It was so simple and so fun, I loved the process of seeing what I was going to get, not only in the box, but the yarn color that results from the dyeing. The package was so beautiful and well thought out. You really didn’t need anything extra besides the pot to “cook” your yarn in. Now I have a beautiful, high quality hank of yarn to make a project with.
The Dye Box is available as a monthly subscription. This was such a great first dyeing experience, I would love to do it every month.
If you’ve ever wanted to try dyeing, or know someone who does, this would make an awesome gift. I think you will love creating your own custom hank.
They also sell crochet hooks!!!
There is a reason they call themselves the BQueen. If you notice the ends of each of the crochet hooks look just like queen pieces from chess. I have one of these on their way and I cannot wait.
You can choose your wood, hook size and topper and they will custom make the hook for you.
And if you notice in the picture, this may be the first wood hook that I know that does this, but they include a thumb rest on the hook so that you can easily orientate yourself without having to look at the hook. Such a great idea. I don’t have any other wood hooks that include this.
You bet I did.
All you have to do is sign up for the BQueen Collection Newsletter here.
Once you confirm you email address, you will receive a 10% off promo code to use immediately and you will be entered to win a Dye Box.*
*The contest is open to everyone, wherever you live in the world and ends June 20th, 2016 so be sure to enter ASAP.
Now check out my reveal video and see some pictures of me dyeing the yarn below.*
*Note: the promo code is only for 10% off subscription boxes only, not $10 off (as I accidentally stated in the video). Sorry for any confusion.
Congrats to Jackie K. who won the fabulous counter ring with the following comment:
My favorite rainbow color is green!
Thanks so to everyone who entered. Be sure to stay tuned, I have some more great giveaways coming up!
I don’t want to give away what I got, but it is a super popular kit that Knitcrate sells on their website. Check out the video if you want to see what I got. There is also a cameo of the Critsucess counter ring in there if you want to see it in action.
Don’t forget to enter the contest for the giveaway of the ring here. Only another week and a half to enter.
How cool is this ring? Not only is the rainbow color beautiful, but it’s also a row counter, and it can be yours!
I saw this ring in a Knit Simple magazine and had to buy one, and I got an extra for one of you.
It is the coolest row counter I’ve ever seen. It’s made by Critsuccess and it’s original purpose was for gamers who keep score (like when playing Magic the gathering), but it is the perfect thing for knitters and crocheters.
The two sides of the ring spin by pushing either side in towards the middle. A notch keeps it from moving after it is changed. You can see a video on how it works on the product page here.
I have a size 7 ring in the rainbow color up for grabs.
Simply leave a comment in this post with your favorite color of the rainbow to be entered to win.*
*Open to US residents over 18 only please. Entries accepted until Feb. 29th, 2016 midnight Pacific time. Winner will be chosen and announced March 1st, 2016.
