If you remember from my previous post, I am learning to knit and had signed up for this particular knitcrate because it included everything I needed to learn to knit including the needles, yarn and videos. Check out my reveal video to see how I liked it and what I made.
Plus use promo code: 77tg5t to get $10 off your first knitcrate.
I received my December Knitcrate and as always, they did not disappoint. The new format for the reveal is that everything, including the price of each item, is revealed on the video below. Then the most important part — the giveaway, is below that.
Did you get a Knitcrate this month? How did you like it, did you get the same items as me? Let us know below.
*Offer good to anyone living anywhere (yay!). Entries accepted until December 31st, 2014. Winner will be chosen and announced Jan. 1st, 2015. The promo code for the two patterns will be emailed to the winner.
I got a little behind with the holidays, but also wanted to try something new. So instead of full blog posts of the values of all the items in my yarn subscriptions that I receivedlast month, I made up two videos with the breakdowns already included.
My first is from Yarnbox. It is the November 2014 box. I got some really nice yarn from New Zealand (spoiler alert: more possum yarn.)
The second is from Knitcrate. It is the November 2014 Int/Adv Knitter crate. It had an awesome scarf in a scarf kit and a item that I’m giving away below, so be sure to head below the video for that.
This guy is made for storing your circular knitting needles while working on a project. The video goes more into what it does, but it’s a great tool for your knitting bag. It can be yours by leaving a little comment below on what your last finished project was.*
*US residents only please. Entries accepted until Dec. 21st, 2014 midnight Pacific time. I’ll announce the winner on Monday, Dec. 22nd, 2014
I’ve got another giveaway going up in the next couple of days that is great for knitters or crocheters so follow the blog now so you get notification when that is up.
This color is called Sandpiper and like some of the new Chroma, it seems that the colors are randomized rather than continuous or mirrored.
The colors are very beautiful in person, it reminds you of an overcast day at the beach, everything muted and slightly dark.
I chose the Sandpiper to remake my Textable Gloves. I wanted something more winter colored instead of bright and I love how they turned out.
Just like the other patterns I have revealed in the new colors, this will be up on Knit Picks website in the coming future, but you don’t have to wait if you like the look. You can purchase the pattern here, and the yarn here.
“All natural” and cookies don’t always go well together. I thought I would try one of these tea cookies and then the cotton mouth that would result from the dryness of the cookie would prevent me from eating another.
Well, I tried one and the next thing I knew, the bag was empty.
The cookies were so delicious that I’m about to order some more from their website. Did I mention they included a 20% off promo code as well?
The outer coating was a sort of thick powered sugar but more soft and less asphyxiating — ever breathe in accidentally when biting a powered doughnut?
The key lime was sweet, yet wonderfully tart and the actually cookie was very soft and not dry at all.
I highly recommend these and if you don’t like them, I will take any extras off of your hands.
3. 15% off of Swan Island’s Merino and Natural Colors yarn (yarn included in knitcrate).
I love the name of this yarn.
Swans Island Natural Color Collection in Sea Glass ($48 for both hanks)
It’s handcrafted in Maine and hand dyed.
This super soft lace weight is 50% fine merino wool and 50% tussah silk. It comes with a whopping 530 yards per hank. I think I will need to make a very special shawl with this. Stay tuned for that.
Loving the Knitcrate this month. Did you get one? If you haven’t, what are you waiting for? Use this link and get 10% off your first order. Meanwhile, get a better look at the haul here in this video reveal.
Leave me a comment below on your favorite weight of yarn. Do you prefer worsted or bulky, fingering or lace, or do you love it all? Let me know and you will be entered to win the promo codes for the patterns. Entries end Saturday, August 9th, 2014 and I will announce the winner Sunday, August 10th, 2014.
