Open Work Shell Stitch
The Open Work Shell Crochet Stitch is a perfect stitch for super-fast projects. Need a shawl pattern for that wedding next week? This pattern is for you. The stitch creates a very large open fabric but is interesting with alternating rows of shells and blocks.
Like most crochet stitches, the open-work shell stitch makes a great reversible fabric.
This stitch can be made with a variety of yarns and weights. Even fun yarns like boucle or eyelash can work because of their wide-open stitches. See a couple of recommendations below.
The “Zen” Tutorial
This is a new series for my video tutorials. It is completely voiceless and just plays very relaxing music as it walks you through the stitches. Each stitch is worked very slowly and multiple times so you can see what needs to be done. There is a written pattern to follow along with and helps you to work on your crochet skills with limited interference.
