Jade Scarf
The Jade Knit Scarf Pattern is an easy project with a beautiful result. The lace design has a gentle wave that really shows off self-striping yarn. With just an 8-row repeat, it’s simple to memorize, making it a great knit to work on while watching TV or relaxing.
You’ll find everything you need to knit the scarf below, including the yarn, knitting needles, and a free pattern. If you like this pattern, please share it!

Knit Tutorials
If you’re new to knitting, no worries! I have many beginner tutorial videos to guide you through every step of the process. My tutorials are designed to be easy to follow and will help you master the basics and beyond. You can use the search bar anytime to look for a particular stitch or technique.
Yarn Selection
You will need approx. 425 yards of Knitting Fever Painted Desert in Peridot to make the same scarf pictured.

Otherwise, you can substitute with any fingering-weight yarn you like.
The great thing about this pattern is that you can also substitute different weight yarns easily. Whatever you have on hand can work. Just be sure to adjust your needle size based on the ball band and how the lace looks. More information on this is in the tutorial video.
Self-striping or solid colors will look great in this pattern. See another variation below made with lightweight yarn.

Knitting Needles Used For Pattern
You will need US 4 [3.5mm] needles for this pattern. You can use straight or circular, whichever you prefer. The two I show in the tutorial video are listed below.

This affordable bamboo knitting needle set from Amazon has every size you’ll need to tackle any project. The smooth, lightweight bamboo makes them comfortable to use and helps prevent stitches from slipping off your needles.

If you’re starting out, a bamboo needle set is a great cost-effective choice—but if you’re serious about knitting and ready to invest, the Addi Click Set – Short Lace is in a league of its own. With sharp lace tips, smooth joins, and flexible cords, these needles make even the most intricate projects faster, easier, and more enjoyable.
Additional Supplies Needed
The only other thing you will need is a yarn needle to weave in the ends. My favorite yarn needles are made of metal, they are easy to slide through any yarn. I like the Susan Bates option below.

Gauge For Pattern
Gauge is 4”= 23 sts and 24 rows in pattern to make the same size pictured. However, you don’t have to worry about gauge unless you want it the exact same size. Scarves are great projects for those of us (like me) who don’t enjoy having to make gauge before starting.
Pin For Later
If you’re not ready to start the project yet, pin this page to head back quickly.

Finished Measurements

The finished size of the scarf (when gauge is followed) is approx. 9” wide x 64″ long.
Construction
The scarf is worked flat with increasing and decreasing to create the lace.
Special Stitches
sl1, k2tog, psso: slip 1 stitch purl wise with yarn in back, knit next 2 stitches together, pass the slipped stitch over the k2tog. Double decrease that leaves one stitch on your right-hand needle.
