Crochet Stitches Used For The Pattern

For the pattern, you will be using all of the basics: single, half double, double and treble crochet throughout.. If you are new to crochet, click on the stitches to be taken to a beginner tutorial that will walk you through step-by-step before you start the project.

Suggested Yarn

The green and cream pictured pattern used Loops & Threads Soft Classic. It is a great budget-friendly choice for crochet projects. This 100% acrylic worsted-weight yarn is soft, easy to work with, and comes in a wide variety of colors. It has good stitch definition and is machine washable, making it a practical option for everyday projects like slippers. For the cream and green pictured I used the colors (the yardage will be below with each sole size):

1. Off White (VS122) CA

2. Sage (VS119) CB

Other Yarn Options in Worsted Weight

I’ve listed a few more options, at different price points, that would work great for this pattern.

$

$$

Vanna’s Choice yarn is a beloved and versatile yarn that has become a staple in the crafting community. Created in collaboration with the renowned television personality and avid crocheter, Vanna White, this yarn is celebrated for its exceptional quality and wide array of vibrant colors. Crafted from a blend of acrylic fibers, Vanna’s Choice offers a soft and easy-to-work-with texture, making it ideal for various projects such as blankets, scarves, and garments. $$$

Lion Brand Color Theory is a worsted-weight yarn that lets you mix and match hues with ease. This yarn is crafted from machine washable and dryable 100% easy-care acrylic. It’s available in a variety of colors that are inspired by the latest fashion trends.

Crochet Hook Used For Pattern

Depending on the size you want to make you will need either a 5.5mm [US-I] or 6mm [US-J] crochet hook for this project. Of course, you may need to change that size to achieve gauge, but you can start there. See futher information below in the gauge section.

After testing numerous brands of crochet hooks, I’ve narrowed down my favorites. Below, you’ll find my top picks, ranked from least to most expensive.

$

Clover Soft Touch Amour crochet hooks are my absolute favorite! Their comfy, soft handles make long crochet sessions a breeze.

$$

For just slightly more money, Etimo Tulip Crochet hooks are another winner in my book. With their cushioned, ergonomic handles and smooth hooks, they make crocheting with any kind of yarn super easy.

$$$

For those of you who like to splurge, Furls Crochet hooks are beautiful hooks made from resin, wood, and metal. Their ergonomic design and polished surfaces make each stitch smooth and effortless. Treat yourself to these elegant hooks for a truly premium crochet experience.

Additional Supplies Needed

The only other thing you will need is a yarn needle to weave in the ends. My favorite yarn needles are made of metal, they are easy to slide through any yarn. I like the Susan Bates option below.

Finished Measurements

For sole:

Small (Shoe Size 5-6): 3.5” x 9” long

Medium (Shoe Size 7-8): 3.75” x 9.5” long

Large (Shoe Size 9-10): 4” x 10” long

Gauge For Pattern

See below for the specific gauge depending on which slipper size you are making. Gauge is incredibly important to have a proper size beanie. Be sure to check gauge before beginning and adjust your hook size as necessary. The slippers do stretch quite a bit so err on the side of it being smaller than larger if you can’t make specific gauge.

Medium and Small: 4”= 12 SCs and 16 rows

Large: 4” = 12 DCs and 7 rows
