I just purchased your cute owl basket crochet pattern and have a question about the recommended hook size. At the store I found that a 10mm hook was size N, not a P as indicated. Will you clarify please? Looking forward to making this.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, the 10mm can be listed as either a N or P, you basically want to get the 10mm and don’t worry about the letter stated. 🙂
Martha
I did get the 10mm as the size P was a 15mm and looked really big. Thanks for your quick reply.

I purchased the Owl Basket on Craftsy on March 1st. Did not realize it was a download, and I didn’t get it. Can I still get the download and how do I do so?
Deja Jetmir
You sure can. Which website did you purchase from. They all have a spot to redone load. Let me know whichever one and I will let you know where to download. 🙂
Lynne Mack
I will try it later this evening, thanks.

I am having trouble with the Owl Basket Eyes in Round 4. I just can not get the eyes to come out as they look in the picture.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, sorry you are having troubles. Make sure each stitch is made into its own stitch in the round below. Let me know if that is the problem, or if you can give more info to try to help you out.
Cheryl Black
Hi there, I am trouble with the eyes on the owl basket. What hook size is it we are suppose to use?
When I use the P the eyes are too big. Thank you
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, you should be using the 10mm with two strands.
How big are the eyes getting?
Sue
Hi! Just started the owl basket. I’m a little confused as how to join the circles eg shoul i slip stich? Also should i start with a chain even though the pattern does not say to? Thanks Sue
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, you’re gonna work the pattern in spirals. It should state it in the special instructions. So no joining of rounds or chains. 🙂
Joanie
Hi, Deja!
Just bought your pattern for the Owl Beanie. I’m purchasing Knit Picks yarn, but wanted to be certain that I’m supposed to use “Custard”. This seems so yellow in their picture, but the picture of the beanie seems more white. Should this really be “Custard” and not “Cream”, or something a bit lighter?
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, the color is correct. It is custard, it’s a pretty light yellow. If you want a more white color though don’t be afraid to try cream or even white. 🙂
jean ditenhafer
i’m having trouble with the mini shell stitch pattern. After the 2nd row; it says… rows 3-18: Repeat row 3, 21 sts. OK , but i don’t see row 3 instructions!!!
Deja Jetmir
So Sorry about that. It should read repeat Row 2. Thanks for that. I will get that fixed. 🙂
Barb
Owl Basket Pattern- I purchased the pattern for this basket and notice on the first page you mention special stitches that will be used in the pattern of of which is a Double Treble Crochet I don’t see this stitch mentioned in the the instructions at all. Also I don’t see the ears in the pattern either. Were this not included for a reason or I’m just missing them?
Thank you.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, I have a video on the DTR here:
http://crocheteverafter.com/tutorials/misc-stitch-tutorials/double-treble-crochet-tutorial/
The owl does not have ears. 🙂 His eyes instructions include “eye flares” which are probably the ears you are talking about.

Hi, I have reached row 32 of the tree of love afghan only to find out the pattern is mirrored to the diagram. Is this the case and why?
Regards, Dani.
Deja Jetmir
Hi there. The diagram should be the same as the written portion. You are beginning in the bottom right of the diagram correct?
danibalkanska
Hi, Deja
I really need your help to continue with the afghan. I just don’t get it probably but it’s really confusing me and I would very much like to do it right.
So, on the Diagram as well as on the photo of your afghan, two of the roots are on the left and there is one on the right, right? The one which is the (left) middle one starts first and the pattern would be correct only if I crochet the RS from left to right (which I can’t do) as my Rs starts always from right-to-left and your pattern reads: Row 32: Turn, CH 1. SC in next 2 STS, [SC, bobble] 9 times, SC in next 14 STS, [SC, bobble] 2 times, SC in next 66 STS, [SC, bobble] 9 times, SC in next 3 STS.
My diagram looks inverted: Starting from right to left – 2 SC, [SC, bobble] 9 times, 66 SC, [SC, bobble] 2 times, 14 SC, [SC, bobble] 9 times, 3 SC… This is what’s confusing me. If it was just one row I could have done it without asking. Thank you for your help!
Regards,
Dani
Deja Jetmir
Which way are your bobbles naturally wanting to go? They should be pushing to the back which makes all the bobble rows the RS. So then your roots will be on the right side. 🙂
danibalkanska
Does that mean my RS is actually my WS? I crochet them on the RS and they stay on the same side. My WS is flat…
Dani
danibalkanska
Ok, I can see my mistake now… My bobbles come pushed on the right side as I make every SC after each bobble from back to front. Right, that’s my bad. I suppose I have two choices now either to follow the diagram or the pattern which will make it mirrored looking.
Does the right side of the pattern become identical to the left side at some point?
Cheers,
Dani
Deja Jetmir
correct. 🙂 It’s no big deal if you want the bobbles on the other side. They just tend to push to the back side.
Melanie Melancon
I purchased your Richmond lace Infinity Scarf pattern. The initial chain is 65 stitches. On subsequent rows, my stitch count comes out correct. However, when I compare it to the stitch diagram, there are too many stitches. The diagram is 45 chains, not 65. Also, my length is 9 inches, not six inches, even though I am using the recommended yarn and hook. If I switch to 45 chains, the instructions will not come out right. When you did the stitch diagram, did you only include a portion of the pattern to show the layout? I am confused and am trying to complete this for a Christmas present. Help!
Deja Jetmir
Hi there, yes the diagram only shows the partial total. It is there for guidance for the beginning, ending and pattern repeat in the middle. As for your scarf measuring 9 inches, how is your guage? Sometimes you will need to adjust your hook if it is not reading the same as what is listed. You may need to go down in hook size if you want 6 inches. However, if you like the look of the 9 inches you can stick with that, it will just be a shorter scarf that what is stated. 🙂

I recently purchased your OWL Basket pattern. After downloading and reading it did not make sense. Seems like some parts were missing. I emailed and was sent an updated pattern. I have finished the basket part of the pattern but it does not measure 12″ high? If you add up the amount of rounds you will see it only measures 6″ high…please help Thank you
Deja Jetmir
Hi there. Let me see if o can figure out what is happening. 🙂 first off how many rounds is the basket portion? I ask since you mentioned your pattern seemed not complete. Second, what weight yarn are you using? Anything other then the recommended bulky will give you a different size. Third, are you using four strand held together? And lastly, what is your gauge reAding? These are the most likely culprits of a different size basket. 🙂
Dawn Eagles
Hoodie Who Owl Ornament- I bought the pattern from my local yarn store and I’m working on it right now. Question in reference to the first bobble row, round 11. I can’t get the stitches to add up to 48 and I know that it’s probably something ridiculously simple…there are 19 single crochets, then 25 cluster stitch single crochets? It has to be how I’m reading the pattern….help!
Deja Jetmir
HI there, I’m not sure where the 25 cluster stitches are coming from. Here is what I have for Row 11. Is your’s different?
SC in next 19 STS, [CL ST, SC in next 2 STS] 3 times, CL ST, SC in next 19 STS. 48 STS
🙂
Dawn Eagles
I don’t understand the difference between (CL ST, SC in the next 2 STS) 3 times and CL ST, SC in the next 19 STS. It doesn’t make sense to me……For some reason my brains not processing this right.
Deja Jetmir
Okay, I see. 🙂 So when you read the pattern you will start with single crochets in the first 19 STS. 19 total
Then the parenthesis are being repeated 3 times. You will cluster stitch, then single crochet once in the next two stitches. 3 STS times 3= 9 STS total
Then you will single crochet in the last 19 STS. 19 total
So 19+9+19= 48 STS total for the round.
So you will be putting two single crochets between each cluster when you get to them. Does that make more sense?
