Temu Crochet Hooks: A Detailed Review and Comparison With Etimo Tulip Hooks
Recently, I came across a set of crochet hooks from Temu during one of my hauls (see more about the haul here), and I couldn’t resist trying them out because they looked so similar to some of my favorite crochet hooks. The big question on my mind was: could these Temu hooks stand up to one of my all-time favorite set, the Etimo Tulip crochet hooks? This post contains affiliate links.

First Impressions
When I first unboxed the Temu crochet hooks, I noticed how similar they looked to my Tulip hooks and was pleasantly surprised by their sleek design and pretty blue colors. The ergonomic handles looked just like the Tulip hooks, albeit with a slightly different texture, but should still provide comfort during long crochet sessions, and the smooth hooks looked perfect for gliding through yarn without snagging.
The Comparison
Etimo Tulip Hooks:
- Ergonomics: The Etimo Tulip hooks are renowned for their ergonomic design, which reduces hand fatigue and makes crocheting for extended periods a breeze.
- Material: Made from high-quality materials, these hooks are durable and provide a smooth crocheting experience.
- Comfort: The soft, cushioned handles are a standout feature, providing excellent grip and comfort.
Temu Hooks:
- Design: The Temu hooks also feature ergonomic handles, though slightly different in texture compared to the Tulip hooks. They fit comfortably in hand, offering a good grip.
- Material: While the materials used are of decent quality, they don’t quite match the premium feel of the Tulip hooks.
- Comfort: The handles are comfortable, but I did notice a slight difference in the overall feel due to the different texture of the handle material.
Putting Them to the Test
To truly understand how these hooks compare, I put them through a series of crochet projects. From intricate patterns to simple stitches, I wanted to see if the Temu hooks could keep up with the performance of my beloved Tulip hooks.

Results
The Temu hooks performed “well enough” in various projects. They were easy to handle, and the stitches came out neat and even. However, I noticed a slight difference in the metal shaft of the Temu hooks, which caused the yarn to get slightly hung up as I performed stitches. While it was a minor issue, it stood out to me when compared to my Tulip hooks, which are super sleek and never give me trouble when moving through stitches. The Tulip hooks’ superior material quality and ergonomic design provided a smoother and more comfortable crocheting experience.

Conclusion
While the Temu crochet hooks are a great deal, especially for those looking for an affordable alternative, they didn’t quite match up to the Etimo Tulip hooks in terms of comfort and overall quality. The slight pause in each stitch was too much for me to be able to want to use these hooks regularly.

I have not tried the Temu hooks, but can’t wait to try the Tulips! I had given up crochet due to arthritis in my hands and wrists, but there are so many things you can make better with crochet. Thank you for bringing Tulips to my attention.
Cheers!
