My go to gift projects are dishcloths and mug cozies. Most of my friends seem to appreciate both of them and they’re great portable projects for me to take with me to places like the doctor’s office, to work for lunch hour stitching, etc.

  • Cropperhopper

I personalize the gift to fit the person. I make shawls, fingerless mitts, sweaters, slouchy beanies, cowls, scarves, you name it. I haven’t even started yet for this Christmas. I sort of know what I want to do, but lack of funds for the yarn have kept me from making anything.

  • Kim Worley

My go to pattern? Potholder, trivet or scrubby. I use a bulky yarn in person’s colours. If I can’t find an appropriate yarn I double up the yarn, I prefer cotton, wool or bamboo (my new favorite yarn) and make SURE there’s no melty fibers in it. I use the log cabin pattern. Easy peasy and useful.

What a FABULOUS idea! I wear my pony tail higher than the photo shows. How do I make the space for it higher? Would LOVE to make it from the yarn that I hope I win. I’ve only won 2 things in my life. 2 truck tires (I owned a car) and $50. That was a decade ago. I bring other people luck but have none myself. Lol. Crossing my fingers and toes so I can be wearing my beanie for our first cold front this coming winter. 😀

Hi there, the video tutorial talks about how to make the hole higher, but you basically put your ponytail in and as you make the beanie, try it on, once you hit your ponytail, move to the hole instructions and there ya go. 🙂

I usually give scarves or shawls, but this year I have added headbands that all the girls in my family seem to love!

I love to gift little amigurumi that fits the person’s interest. My Scotland obsessed mother-in-law got a little Merida (Disney’s Brave), my sister got an Ariel, my new little niece got an adorable giraffe, and I designed a little DanTDM doll (Minecraft YouTuber) and sent it to him in England. I just love how I can really personalize my gifts that’s way.

With four grown children, seven grandchildren and LOTS of family and friends for which I am making various crochet gifts for Christmas! Had to start earlier this year….last year was a last-minute rush with nothing done to my satisfaction.
Have seen this yarn and would LOVE to try it…on my fixed income, I have to be careful about my ‘yarn budget’ – but am tired of dealing with ‘bargain yarns’ that create more problems….yarns broken in middle of skein, uneven spinning so you have a sport weight starting out – and ends up a super bulky on and off throughout the skein…REALLY want to use some GOOD yarn for a change…and this sounds amazing!

I mostly knit for gift-giving, but it is very specific to the individual and the occasion. I have made aghans, baby sweaters, hats and booties, dishcloths and even some toys.

  • Linda

My skill level has gotten better as of late and I’m feeling more confident on the items I make.
I’ve only made dish clothes and small stuffed items. I’m using up the old yarns I have which is what I started with from Michael s and Hobby Lobby. Now that I know about the better yarns out there and my skill has increased I don’t want to make something really nice until I have some good yarn.
Thanks for the chance to win. 🙂

My go to is either a set of matching dish cloths or an afghan. Obviously time is a limiting factor but dish cloths are easy to make when traveling, which I do a fair amount of, but afghans are such a pleasure to plan and make too!

  • Heather

My go-to project are crochet cowls, since they’re really quick. I’ve made quite a few of the Richmond Lace Infinity scarf and everyone raves about them.

  • roberta oster

I like to make fingerless gloves, hooded scarves, and dishclothes and scratchers….people are disappointed if a couple dishclothes are not included in their Christmas package….

  • Nicole

I don’t really have a “go to” gift. They’re all different for everybody. My sister is getting a lace scarf, my brother a cabled scarf. Mittens for my parents, and a shawl for my best friend. So busy 😀

  • Emily hernandez

My next go to project us going to be brace covers. We just found out my 2 year old grand baby had to wear a leg brace for the rest of her life due to a bow leg. So I got to thinking why not make a brace cover since this yarn was used for the hat that us worn every dayI thought it would hold up great for the brace

  • Linda Ruquet

I haven’t given the gifts yet! I’m working on them at the moment for Christmas. So far I have an afghan, 3 scarves, 1 cowl and 2 shawls that are done! I have to make another 1-2 cowls, a hat, maybe another shawl and finish up an afghan. I better get my butt moving, times running out!!!!!!!!

  • Marcia

I usually make scarves and hats for everyone on my gift list because they are quick and you don’t generally need to worry about size. For those really close to me like family members I make sweaters, socks, and beautiful lace shawls.

  • Linda Stella Zentner

My go to gift for over a year is your green men’s beanie, now I can finally enjoy spiral crochet! Also- I just made my youngest daughter a slew of new washcloths in cotton from the dishcloth you designed, which first introduced me to you. No one ever, ever told me in over 30+years crocheting, to bring the yarn up to the shaft of the hook, & all the technical tips you generously share! This changed my life! I also love to make chokers around neck that I design.

  • mes862

I love to make holiday themed scarves and have them ready for giving at Thanksgiving time. This way they can wear the scarf as soon as they receive it!

  • Laura L.

Hi, Deja, and thanks for another chance at a great giveaway! I would love to win this yarn and be able to make your ponytail beanie for one of my daughters-in-law, she would really use it and love having it.

  • Heather Bucci

I like gifting hats, gloves and scarves. Also I’ve made afghans. I want to start making some amigurumis for my boys and my friends babies.

  • Christine

I used to make afghans, but lately I have been making amigurumis and hats (funny and regular) and fingerless gloves. Have also been making scarves and cowls. Grandsons have so many ami requests. My granddaughter (5) is now requesting hats, sweaters and fingerless gloves. So I see a beautiful hat and mitts in her future if I were to win! 🙂

  • Maria

Oh goodness, I love making gifts. I’ve only been crocheting for less than a year so I started with scarves (regular and infinity), then I moved onto hats, then a few afghans and bunny baby blankets (the cuddle ones with the head of a bunny and the body is a blanket). I just started learning how to knit too and am making my first scarf. I am going to try and make some purses for my daughter next and some fingerless gloves and mittens. Oh and I have a request for an afghan for a bridal shower for next year. If I get real crazy, I may try to make my first sweater this winter too.

  • Cindy

I usually gift hats and scarves but, I’m gathering patterns for and planning to try my hand at making some gloves this season!

  • Anita Tingley

My go to gift item when I crochet is currently wash cloths. I found a pattern I really enjoy, and love how the stitched pattern works up. I’m fairly new to crocheting, so maybe I will gift bigger items with time. I just gifted a set of 3 cloths to each of my 4 sisters and my mom….they seem to love them.

  • Flo L

My go to gift is always a knitted or crocheted cowl. I know they’re very appreciated because I receive requests for more 🙂

  • carol

I love to make hat and scarf sets as gifts. I have made 3 so far to give as Christmas presents this year. Love all the new yarns and colors available.

  • kim dawson

ok to be honest I have not made many gifts. The only gifts I have made are stuffies of TMNT for my hubby and boys and a monster for my oldest. I do make donation hats each month and send if that counts then I would say hats… oh and I have made hats for my boys ,,, so hats 🙂
