Fingerless gloves or cowl type scarves, although I may do hats this year. Hand making it all this holiday season.
Jackie
I love making blankets for people as they are practical and personal: curling up with one reminds the person who made it and how much love and effort when into picking the right color and design.
Sonja
I love making stuff for my children =)

My favorite go-to are fingerless gloves or simple cowl style scarves.. But this year I am thinking hats.
All my gifts will be handmade this year.
Carrie P.
Hats are what I have made so far. New to crochet so I haven’t made a lot of things yet.

Since I have only made a few things, I would say a scarf, or maybe a shawlette. Depends on the difficulty level.
Thank you for the giveaway!

I love making baby blankets and slouchy hats and scarves and shrugs for my gifts I give.

My go to project is mitts. They are quick and portable for knitting on the go. This yarn is a gorgeous blue! It would be difficult to make a gift from it unless it was a gift for me!
Seema S
I love to make hats, beanies..and based on weather I choose my patterns and yarn.
Suzanne Bartlett
I make chemo caps.
Marcia
My go-to gift is a prayer shawl.
eurydicenymph
For kids I make hats, for adults I make scarves with pockets!

A shawlette is what I usually go for. It’s not too big, not too small, can be made with expensive and luxurious yarn since it doesn’t require a whole lot of it, but what I like the most is its practicability. It can be worn as a shawl, folded as a scarf, twisted as a cowl, it can serve as a head covering/snood, and can be used inside or outside.
Kristy
Love making the afghans, but I would say a scarf or hat of some sort.

To add to the array of teal and blue tones on a free style crocheted sweater…under construction! The Merino yarn is perfect color to blend with the yarns currently using. Good luck to everyone!!!
Cathy
Scarves or fingerless mitts.
ginnie
a slouchy hat 🙂

I’ve only been crocheting for a month or two so I’m still at dish clothes and potholders. I would love to work with that beautiful blue hank of yarn.

I don’t have a “go to” gift. It really depends on who I’m making it for & for what occasion.
Patsy Holt
I crochet Scarves and Christmas stockings the most for gifts.
Kathleen Horn
My favorite thing to make for a baby present is a pea pod! I have made several for newborns and the gift is always loved! It’s a quick item to knit up for a new mom and baby:) Also love making infinity scarves for my daughters and their friends and people I work with!
Mary
My go-to gift is usually a nice cowl. The stitches vary, I like to do different textured stitches :).
Paula
This is a gorgeous color! My first picks for gifts are hats or scarves or a matching set.

My “Go to gift” is a baby afghan or Lapghan that is my own design. It’s similar to a “Granny square” but more solid. Although it’s square you can go round and round flipping it on each round. I’ve been making this for over 20 years. Size depends on yarn & needle. Yes I’ve shared this pattern with others. Taught a secretary that gives crochet lessons how to make it and now there are at least a dozen making this easy pattern. Made me feel good to share it with them.

I make a lot of scarves or beanies. A lot of my family lives in New England, Alaska and Portland and they always ask for them… So I spend most of the year making a bunch of them and also have a couple afghans going as well
Kristina
I love scarves for my female recipients and beanies for my men. Both options are so customizable l!

My special gift this year is a spiral handbag, all hd in back loops, then lined and fastened with a magnet or button and loop. I embellish with crocheted flowers and vintage buttons. I’ve been using blends of silk, bamboo, and cotton. Try to do something different every year.
Neesie
Hate to say it but a washcloth.
My mom loves the ones I make for her so I’m always making one for her.
I like to do other small things like mug rugs, or coffee cup cozies, or fingerless mitts(texting mitts as my teen daughter likes to call them! :o)

I’ve only been crocheting for a little while but I love using super bulky yarn and making a one skein cowl. Super easy and super quick and my friends are always super impressed with their gift!
Cheri
My goto is usually marinara sauce or something that I have cooked/canned (kids last year got homemade marshmallows and graham crackers with store bought chocolate bars). I have done old world style leather books, but once every couple of decades, I give an afghan.
Ivonne
My go to gifts are slouchy beanies or skull caps/beanies!
Kathryn Mcdonald
my go to project is an afghan…usually crocheted using my grandmother’s ripple or granny patterns…love them and color is usually dependent upon the time of year!
Bria
My circle of friends & immediate family is huge so I only do the one holiday gift. It’s always a “spa kit” where I knit a cabled, drawstring sachet which holds a handmade soap or fizzy bath bomb inside. It can be used as a gentle scrubber, or just keep the soaps from dissolving onto the tub ledge.
The latest sachets featured an Owl cable in superwash merino, they loved them 🙂
