Silver Spun Giveaway! ~ Win 2 Full Skeins and a Pattern ~ Over $50 Value!!

Win me...
Win me…
and me!!!
and me!!!

The fabulous folks over at Feel Good Yarn are giving me some yarn to giveaway. Two full skeins of Silver Spun in fact!

This is the perfect amount to make the Textable Gloves, so I’m throwing the pattern in with the yarn. See below on how to enter the giveaway.

In case you haven’t read my previous post about Silver Spun let me inform you quickly that this yarn is made with REAL silver woven in. According to the Feel Good Yarn Company

The silver content in SilverSpun makes it therapeutic and conductive. Silver kills a number of bacteria, including those that cause odor, has excellent thermal properties, is nontoxic and is perfect for those suffering from diabetes, arthritis and sensitive skin. Silver is also an excellent conductive agent thus allowing smartphone or tablet touch screen use while wearing gloves knit from the yarn. The silver is permanently adhered to the yarn and will not wash out.

I love this yarn, it’s soft, incredibly stretchy and very easy to work with.  Also did I mention when you make the gloves from the pattern I’m including in the giveaway, you can use your touchscreen devices because the silver is conductive? Check out the video review below to see the gloves working with my iPhone.

You can even use the leftover yarn to sew into your other gloves to make them textable as well.

I started a group in my town called “Indiana county knit/crochet circle” and we are in process of making hats, gloves and/or blankets for cancer/chemo patients. We will be greatly honored to use this yarn in that process depending g on the silver, not sure if that will be allowed for them but we could also use it to make something else that we can donate to another organization. All donations of yarn are welcome and greatly appreciated so winning this will be a spectacular event for us.

    Thank you

I would use the pattern for the gloves with them. My hands are always cold. I think socks would be good to use the yarn with also. Thanks for the chance to win.

What lovely and useful yarn! I would like to make gloves and socks for my daughter. I work for a chiropractor, so I would also make wraps for knees, elbows, and torsos for our patients.

  • Linda Pope

I would make gloves and hats for my grandkids. They are constantly “borrowing” my phone, tablet and computer to do their “stuff”.

  • Linda

That yarn looks so interesting for gloves. I’d love to try it. Thanks for the chance.

I would love to have some socks made out of this yarn. The silver in the yarn would help my circulation. I also think a hat made out of this yarn would be great.

I would def make some fingerless gloves – probably give them to my Mom because of the therapeutic benefit for arthritis – she still does a lot of needlework and these would make her hands feel (and look!) great.

I would love to make a fancy cowl/infinity scarf…or my first pair of gloves. It’s a toss up. 🙂

  • Kristina

I would probably make the gloves or maybe texting wrist warmers for me that would be a smaller size that I could you the therapeutic benefits of the yarns as crocheting gloves for myself.

  • Katie Dixon

I’ve never heard of this yarn. It sounds SO cool! And therapeutic? Man, I love yarn 🙂 I love the gloves and that they’re textable. I might also make some mittens, or even a short lacy sweater if I had this yarn. Or even just some yarn jewelry!

  • Brenda Ross

I would make a scarf or fingerless gloves! I think this yarn sounds fabulous but wish it wasn’t so expensive!

  • Missy Thomas

I am excited! If I win those two skeins of yarn, I am going to give them to my mom. She recently made me the awesome Owl basket that I found through you and this would be a great gift so she can make more amazing things!!

  • Margarita

Wow! This yarn sounds amazing. Therapudic and a great wearable yarn?! Since it helps with odor AND is thermal, I’d definitely make some socks/slippers. It says it’s also great for diabetics, socks & slippers made out of these for a diabetes patient would be a great project! For the benefits this yarn gives those with arthritis, I’d make some pretty lace and broomstick lace bracelets and wrist wraps! They’d be helpful AND pretty accessories using this yarn. Could even make some knee wraps/braces for those with arthritis in that area. These would keep you warm, yet sooth at the same time! I am intrigued by the fact that this yarn is also conductive and would love to explore the textable pattern and even use the yarn in mittens. Mittens are so cute, yet so unfunctional that I think this yarn & a great pattern could help bring mittens back into your daily winter wardrobe! Especially with the younger generation!

There are so many things to make and share with others, such as gloves, socks, scarves, even wrist warmers, the possibilities are endless. Thanks

  • Emily

The inner nerd in me really wants some awesome bracers/wristers. Plus, having the silver so close in contact with the thin skin of your inner forearms would really take advantage of the yarn’s therapeudic properties

  • Gay Gillespie

When you commented on the softness of this yarn, I thought of making a cocoon for newborns. With the silver, it may be healing as well. I love making scarves, too, so that’s a possiblity. Maybe a silver crocheted necklace….

  • Fiona Stevenson

I would like to design a warm, stretchy pair of socks with a little bit of cabling for style that would be good for people with circulation troubles, and pretty to look at!

  • Judy Saxby

After watching the video on this yarn, and with the therapeutic value from the silver, I would make several baby hats to give to our local hospitals neonatal unit for the newborn baby’s.

  • Toni Ishmael

I love your pattern but I am into the fingerless gloves these days and think this yarn would work beautifully for that.

  • Candace Jordan

What a generous giveaway. I can imagine the yarn would also make a nice headband, but the gloves make most sense to take full advantage of the silver’s conductivity.

  • Alyssa Gladstone

As my boobs like to make calls, I keep my phone tucked into my bra, I think a nice tank top might be nice.

  • Medora

Having recently discovered how much fun it is to make crocheted jewelry with yarn that contains stainless steel, I imagine that the first thing I would try with yarn that contains silver would be a necklace or bracelet. Of course, I’ve been wanting to work with pure silver for several years, ever since seeing someone wearing a marvelous skirt crocheted with silver. I do wonder–does the cotton keep it from tarnishing, or will it eventually develop patina?

  • Janet

I had a jacket once with a lining made from fabric with silver woven in it and it kept me nice and warm, so I think I’d like to make socks with the Silver Spun since my feet are always cold.
